Careers Education in Stage 4 is designed to teach students the skills that will assist them in developing the skills required to be successful in everyday life – at school, at home, in the community and in their future careers.
The required skill set ranges from vocationally specific skills (résumé writing, interviewing skills etc) to the more general skills such as goal setting, problem solving and conflict resolution.
The content of this course is proactive and reactive – depending on student needs. Students undertake a work preparedness program in Term 3 that culminates in mock interviews conducted by local business representatives and other volunteers.
Units of subject work include:
- Introduction to careers education
