The National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program provides funding to schools to access the services of a school chaplain or student welfare worker.
Supporting spiritual, social and emotional well-being
This program aims to help school communities support the spiritual, social and emotional well-being of their students. The Chaplain desires to see each young person reach their potential; to be equipped to build healthy relationships and to have the tools to positively handle life’s complexities.
In partnership with chaplaincy provider “Insight School Ministries”, Kariong Mountains High School currently has one chaplain supporting its students:
In 2018, our chaplain Alex is available each Monday to provide mentoring, pastoral care, student support, engagement with the broader community and facilitating group programs that seek to enhance student well being.
He is very approachable and students are encouraged to utilise the chaplaincy service as required.
