2018 KMHS Canteen Menu – Term 3

Canteen ordering

Lunch orders should be written on a paper bag with student’s NAME & YEAR on it. Enclose the money and hand the bag into the the canteen before the first bell at the breakfast window. The canteen has free spare paper bags if any student wishes to write an order at the counter.

Our healthy canteen is open breakfast, lunch and afternoon recess Monday – Friday. Students can order their lunch and can also buy fruit, ice creams, snacks and drinks over the counter.

Food allergies

If you are a student with food allergies (e.g. to peanuts, dairy, wheat or lactose), please come & talk to the canteen supervisor, who can advise what foods you can order on the menu, and/or what foods can be ordered in especially for you.

Canteen volunteers

Our canteen is run with the help of fabulous Mums, Dads & Grandparents, volunteering their time to help make lunches and serve our school community at the counter. This keeps all prices low on the menu, so our volunteers are very valuable to our canteen & school.

Many hands make light work, so if you’ve got a bunch of friends that like to get together for a laugh & a cuppa, make a day of it in the canteen. Or if you’re at loose ends at home & wish to meet new people, then get involved in your child’s school, come & volunteer in the canteen.

Marie Connolly, the canteen supervisor will be in the canteen every day helping the volunteers, she also does all that lovely paperwork and ordering etc; things you don’t to worry about as a volunteer.

Teaching students respect & manners

Feeding our students healthy food is not the only duty of the school canteen.

Teaching the students about respect, manners & the value of money in a safe and controlled environment, with honest role models serving them, is also important.

Canteen operation

Our school canteen is directed by the School P&C Committee. All profits from the canteen are put back into the School’s P&C, to help better educate our students.
